About the National Moth Week event series
National Moth Week was held for the 12th time in 2023, this time during the July 22-30 period. The event finds increasing support and enthusiasm from the moth-loving community every year. The movement was originally limited to America, hence the "National" word in its name. Since then, it has outgrown its original boundaries and takes place as an international event series.
National Moth Week promotes the beauty and diversity of moths. The event encourages people of all ages and experience levels to learn, observe and document moths in their own gardens and other nearby locations. Participants get a unique opportunity to contribute to collecting scientific data about moth distribution through community research.
Participants could organize their own moth observation events, which they could optionally register on the organizers' website. During registration, they could provide details of their event, including their contact information, location, and whether the event was closed or open to additional participants. Registered participants could request a digital certificate from the organizers after the event ended to prove their participation.
