True bugs (Heteroptera) are a species-rich suborder, with nearly 900 species living in Hungary. What makes bugs often come into focus is due to a few species. Two species of seed bugs live in Hungary. The black-and-red-bug (Lygaeus equestris) and the Lygaeus simulans. They are very similar to each other, and it is not possible, or very difficult, to distinguish between the two species with the naked eye.
