Providing Hungarian names to iNaturalist
A volunteer working on the Hungarian translation of inaturalist.org contacted me.
The izeltlabuak.hu website primarily focuses on arthropods found in Hungary. This entry also deals with Hungarian fauna.
He wanted to supplement the missing Hungarian taxon names of arthropods on their platform from a reliable source. The goal was twofold: on one hand, to achieve the most complete Hungarian localization possible, and on the other hand, he wanted to prevent the same taxon name from appearing with different Hungarian common names on various platforms.
For this purpose, he requested the Hungarian and scientific names appeared on the izeltlabuak.hu website.
I was happy to fulfill the request. I compiled the list of names in a processable format and sent it to him.
