He caught is, and we realized it is something we never seen before. The black borer - Apate monachus Fabricius, 1775 - is originally widely distributed throught Africa, and moving North to the Mediterranean. It is known from several European countries. The species is considered as a pest of 80 different plants such as carob trees, pomegranate, coffe or date palms.
