Below you can read the story that I posted here: www.facebook.com/groups/133927003344924/permalink/8683522... --------------- On June 20, I accidentally crashed a snail (Helix pomatia) in my yard. It turned out already dead. The shell contained the liquefied body of the snail and a bunch of maggots. I put the snail and the maggots in a jar to see what flies would evolve. Yesterday (July 5) I opened the lid, and a fly flew away immediately. So today I deep-froze the jar before opening it. The second picture shows 3 of the flies and 2 pupa. The length of the adults was 7-9 mm. Can you determine from the pictures and the story what type of fly it is? (2015.06.20-07.6.
