New data on the occurrence of Asilidae and Therevidae species in Hungary
A new publication by Nimród Varga reports further data on the occurrence of species in the families Asilidae — robber flies and Therevidae — stiletto flies in Hungary.

The izeltlabuak.hu website primarily focuses on arthropods found in Hungary. This entry also deals with Hungarian fauna.
About the publication
During the same Bükk collecting trip on which he also caught the newly described Neoitamus tothsandori, Nimród Varga observed further noteworthy species:
-
Leptarthrus vitripennis — Asilidae — robber flies — is new to the Hungarian fauna and very rare in Europe as well; a local species of mountain hay meadows.
-
Pandivirilia eximia — Therevidae — stiletto flies — is similarly rare and likewise new to the Hungarian fauna.
-
The robber fly species Andrenosoma atrum and Neomochtherus schineri had previously been known from Hungary only from doubtful records.
Nimród's new publication documents the occurrence of all four species in Hungary. They have been added to the Hungarian species list on izeltlabuak.hu.
